Primarily celebrated by the girls and the women of the Indian household, Teej festival is celebrated to welcome monsoon. It is said that during this time Goddess Parvati unionized with Lord Shiva. Fairs are organized in Haryana and school children perform plays. In Rajasthan, women dress up and make sweets for the family.
