There are no hard and fast eligibility criteria which you have to fulfil to become a professional photographer. If you are good, an average photographer can earn between Rs 25,000 - 100,000 per month. Photography is a very versatile career. You can work with an organisation, or you can freelance. Your options would include Wedding Photography, Portrait Photography, Photo Journalism, Product Photography, Landscape / Wildlife Photography, Lifestyle Photography, Fine Art Photography, Fashion Photography or even Crime Scene Photography. You can open your own studio. Photography can be a very satisfying career option if you have a keen eye, are observant of the world around you, and are creative with colours and compositions. Since there are no fixed eligibility criteria, you can learn the technicalities of photography from short vocational courses.
